H.E. Demeke Mekonnen is the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia as well as the minister for foreign affairs. As Ethiopia grapples with conflict, Mekonnen is also prioritising impending disasters from climate change. The security situation in Ethiopia has provoked enormous consequences in terms of access to food and other basic needs, with aggravated climate change set to worsen matters on the ground.
