Climate disinformation has grown, over the past decades, to be more sophisticated, widespread and impactful. It undermines public support for climate action and threatens the integrity of the policy processes designed to address the climate crisis. Accelerated by artificial intelligence, false and misleading information is being spread globally at a speed never seen before.

Yet much remains to be understood about how climate disinformation manifests in different contexts and what that means for climate security globally. Building on the conversation at BCSC 2025, this session broadens the lens to examine how climate disinformation operates and causes harm across diverse geopolitical settings.

Anchored by the Information Integrity Declaration adopted at COP30, the session moves beyond diagnosis. It explores what responses can look like in practice across the media, tech and policy fields.
