Tendai E. Kasinganeti is the Climate, Peace and Security Advisor at UNOAU and serves as the continental node of the CSM. He advises the Office on integrating climate related security risks into the Joint UN–AU Frameworks on peace and security, human rights, and the implementation of Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He works closely with the African Union, its Member States, Regional Economic Communities and Mechanisms, and partners to advance the AU’s climate, peace and security agenda through AU climate change, peace and governance frameworks. Previously, he served as Climate Security Advisor at the AU, where he led the Commission’s climate security work, including the development of the Common African Position on Climate, Peace and Security. He has held roles and provided advisory for UN agencies, international organisations, and several African governments on areas including climate policy and finance, carbon markets, and nature based solutions.
