Mr Jamie Tarawa currently serves as the UNDP Climate Security Advisor to the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, seconded through the UN Climate Security Mechanism. His work supports Pacific regional responses to climate related security risks. Previously, Jamie worked with INTERPOL’s Environmental Security Programme on corruption, environmental crime and illicit financial flows, including emerging risks linked to climate and environmental change. He has a background across New Zealand’s environmental and maritime agencies, the New Zealand Police and the New Zealand Army. He holds a Master’s in International Security, a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management and a Bachelor of Science in Human Geography and Geology.
