Dr Martin Raiser provides strategic leadership on the World Bank engagement with the EU institutions and EU member states to enhance sustainable partnerships, as the Senior Representative for European Economic Cooperation. This includes the identification and leading new strategic opportunities for economic and operational partnerships that leverage the World Bank Groups’ knowledge, operational and mobilization capabilities. Dr. Raiser earned his doctorate in Economics (summa cum laude) from the University of Kiel, Germany, and holds additional degrees in Economics and Economic History from the London School of Economics and Political Science. A German national, Mr. Raiser is married and the father of four children. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed economic journals and is the author of several books.
