Dr Almut Wieland-Karimi worked for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in various functions, e.g. as Founding Director of FES in Afghanistan and Country Director in USA and Canada from 1998 till 2009. Then she was the Executive Director of the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) in Berlin, a daughter organization to the Fedral Foreign Office from 2009 till 2022. Since then she is a Senior Advisor to a variety of organizations. She holds a PhD in Oriental Studies.
