Marcus Lenzen is the Deputy Chief of the Financing for Peacebuilding Branch in the Peacebuilding Support Office of the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs in New York, which manages the Secretary-General's Peacebuilding Fund. He focuses on the Fund's strategy and partnerships, including cross-cutting issues such climate, peace and security. Having worked for 25 years at the interface of peacebuilding, human rights, and development, Marcus has held prior positions with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the United Nations Development Programme and the German Technical Cooperation. He served for multiple years in Nigeria, Peru, and Guatemala, and has supported peacebuilding programmes in sub-Sahara Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Western Balkans. He graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with an MSc in Development Management, and from the University of Münster with an MA in Political Science, Modern History and Applied Cultural Studies.
