Dr. Julia Gorricho, a Colombian anthropologist, is an expert in conflict-sensitive and rights-based conservation with over 18 years of experience. As Programme Coordinator at Blue Action Fund, she leads the implementation of the Environmental and Social Management System. In 2015, she received the "Marjan-Marsh" award from King’s College London for her work in biodiversity conservation in conflict-affected areas. Julia has co-authored key publications on conflict-sensitive conservation, including contributions to the "White Paper on the Future of Environmental Peacebuilding" and the "Voices for Peace and Conservation" podcast.
As Director of Env. Pax, she advocates for integrating peacebuilding with conservation, collaborating globally with communities, research hers, and policymakers. Her work spans the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia, driving inclusive, equitable conservation that ensures nature and people thrive together
