As hard power reasserts itself and development budgets are restructured, the need to demonstrate value and impact is greater than ever. At the same time climate change impacts, droughts, floods and environmental degradation are deepening conflict dynamics in regions already stretched to their limits. 

Against this backdrop, integrated climate, environment, peace and security (CEPS) programming is not just desirable — it is essential.

Drawing on four years of implementation experience from the Weathering Risk Peace Pillar, an initiative spanning Somalia, Nigeria, Iraq, Yemen and the Bay of Bengal, this session presents concrete evidence for what the consortium calls the 'integration dividend': the compounding effect that occurs when gains in one dimension reinforce and multiply outcomes in the others. Integration does not simply add value; it creates capabilities and results that siloed approaches cannot replicate.

Practitioners and project teams from the Berghof Foundation, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD), and the European Institute of Peace (EIP) will share lessons from the field. The session will explore how integrating climate, environment, peace and security programming can multiply impact and what it takes to make integration work in practice.
