Dr. Elizabeth Carabine is Climate Security Advisor in the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General to the Horn of Africa, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Before, she worked as a Regional Senior Expert at the World Resources Institute as well at the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Kampala and Nairobi. She was a Research Fellow in the ODI’s Risk and Resilience Programme. She has several years of experience in research, policy and practice gained in the private and public sectors. Her focus is on climate change adaptation, risk governance, pastoralism and resilient livestock systems and value chains in East Africa, the Sahel and Central Asia.
