Helge Zeitler is the deputy head of the unit in DG Environment in the European Commission in charge of global resource governance and the links between environment and security. The portfolio of the unit includes the global circular economy, the new EU regulation on deforestation-free supply chains and international water policy. She’s been in that function since September 2021. Helge has been working on different international environmental issues for over ten years. She is a lawyer by training and has been dealing with international affairs in the German government, at the UN and in the European Commission since 2002.
