David Ismay leads Sustainability & Public Policy efforts at Gro Intelligence, and also serves as Gro's in-house Legal Counsel. In those roles, he provides policy-related and strategic thinking on a range of issues relating to food security, climate change and AI-driven data analytics. David joined Gro after serving as Undersecretary for Climate Change in Massachusetts, the state's top policy advisor and program manager for statewide climate mitigation and adaptation efforts. Before working in the Baker Administration, he practiced climate, infrastructure, renewable energy and land-use law in Boston and San Francisco. David served both as a Surface Warfare and as Special Warfare (SEAL) officer in the U.S. Navy before becoming a lawyer. David holds a B.S. in History with Honors from the United States Naval Academy, an M.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University (Queen's College) where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and a J.D. from Berkeley Law School.
