Rahel Laudien is a crop modeller working at the Potsdam-Institute for Climate Impact Research in the working group Adaptation in Agricultural Systems. In her research, she uses statistical crop models and machine learning approaches to support climate risk management in tropical agriculture. Particularly, she provides seasonal crop yield forecasts to support early warning of food insecurity. She has conducted research in several countries in the sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining PIK, she worked for a consultancy in the field of climate adaptation services in the Netherlands.
