Hassoumi Massaoudou is Niger’s minister of foreign affairs. Massaoudou is putting climate as a top priority in his agenda, saying last year that Niger’s “climate change is another pandemic with devastating effects.” Niger is experiencing first-hand the mutually reinforcing effects of climate change and conflict. Massaoudou frequently calls to attention security concerns in Niger while highlighting the growing dangers of climate change in Niger and the Sahel.
