Emma Whitaker is a Senior Advisor at adelphi, focusing on the nexus of conflict, vulnerable populations and the environment. Emma is an experienced peace building practitioner, with a diverse portfolio of experience including project management in fragile contexts, humanitarian advocacy and policy research. She has a range of peacebuilding thematic expertise including mediation and negotiation, environmental resource governance and climate and security. Emma has worked across Asia and across Sub-Saharan Africa on issues of climate change, fragility and vulnerability, including working for more then 3-years in the Democratic Republic of the Congo supporting communities to build resilience to the impacts of climate induced conflict. Emma is also the author of several policy and research publications on climate induced fragility, supporting the development of practical and locally-informed action.
