From advocates to experts: An inter-generational exchange on the Climate, Peace and Security agenda
When: 7 October 2024 | 09:30-16:00
Format: workshop
Venue: adelphi
Although young people's experiences with climate, peace and security differ based on gender, ethnicity, social class and other intersectional aspects, they collectively face the greatest risks as they look ahead to an uncertain future on this planet. However, decision-making fora are largely dominated by people from a different generation, one that grew without the looming prospect of mass extinction and the end of life-given resources.
This workshop brings together experts and practitioners to continue the discussion on how a focus on inclusion, especially of the youth, can help bring new perspectives to the CPS agenda. It will shed light on how policy makers can engage with the youth more effectively and how to best garner the opportunities that youth can offer towards climate mitigation, adaptation and peacebuilding.
This side-event is by invitation only.
